How do I use the search engine ?

We have tried to make our database search engine as straight forward to use as possible, but if you are still experiencing difficulties please carefully read the following section:

Firstly it is important to understand that what you are searching on is the text of the advertisement as supplied by the customer. This will not always contain the full list of all the features of the machine, so it can be advantageous to initially use quite a wide set of search criteria. This should find more than the realistic number of machines you want to view.

The following guide only applies to members who are using the advanced search facility:

Specific search

For example, if you wanted to find out how to search for a Heidelberg GTO, to buy you would do the following:

  • From the Advanced search page select "Printing Department" and you will then enter the search facility for the Printing Department.
  • Under the type of product column you can scroll the list and then click on the type of product, Sheet-fed offset, so it is highlighted.
  • Under the manufacturer column you can scroll the list and then click on the manufacturer, Heidelberg, so it is highlighted.
  • Simply type in the model you require in the model section, GTO.
  • Select for sale from the category section
  • Click on the search button
  • Results will be uploaded immediately
  • Remember to widen your search or advertise in the wanted section if you have not found the machine that you are looking for.

General search

If for example you wanted to search for a single colour, A3 size, sheet-fed offset press with numbering, to buy, you would do the following:

  • Click on the type of product list box and then select Sheet-fed offset so it is highlighted.
  • Leave the manufacturer list box unchanged on Any
  • Leave the model box empty
  • Select for sale from the category section.
  • In the colours list box select 1.
  • In the paper size list box select A3.
  • In the keyword box you can enter any feature, so type in numbering.
  • Lastly hit search and your results will be uploaded immediately
  • Remember to widen your search or advertise in the wanted section if you have not found the machine that you are looking for.


The search facility has been designed with flexibility in mind so it allows the user to choose from a wide selection of variants. We hope you enjoy using it.
