How do I use the search engine?
We have tried to make our database search engine as straight forward to use as possible, but if you are still experiencing difficulties please carefully read the following section:
Firstly it is important to understand that what you are searching on is the text of the advertisement as supplied by the customer. This will not always contain the full list of all the features of the machine, so it can be advantageous to initially use quite a wide set of search criteria. This should find more than the realistic number of machines you want to view.
The following guide only applies to members who are using the advanced search facility:
Specific search
For example, if you wanted to find out how to search for a Heidelberg GTO 52, you would do the following:
- From the Advanced Search page select Manufacturer as "Heidelberg"
- Then select the Model as "GTO 52"
- Click the search button
- Results will be uploaded immediately
- Remember you can always advertise in the wanted section if you have not found the machine you are looking for.
General search
If for example you wanted to search for a single colour sheet-fed offset press around the year 1985 in Europe, you would do the following:
- Click on the Category section and select "Printing - Sheet-fed Offset - 1 Color"
- Leave the Manufacturer
- Leave the Model
- Select "1980-1990" in Maximum Age
- Select "Europe"in Location
- Leave the rest of the boxes as they are and then hit search and your results will be uploaded immediately
- Remember you can always advertise in the wanted section if you have not found the machine you are looking for
